What are magnetic false eyelashes?

Magnetic false eyelashes are synthetic eyelash bangs that are applied to the eyelids using magnets. This invention is the brainchild of the American brand One Two, which launched the very first pair of magnetic false eyelashes in 2016. Since then, many specialized brands have followed suit (such as Magnetic By S, Magnetic SL, Ardell, Eylure...) but also other more traditional cosmetic brands (Peggy Sage, Black Up...).

The different types of false magnetic eyelashes

There are several styles of false magnetic eyelashes. From the most natural fringe to the most extravagant look, there's something for everyone. Length, thickness, volume, curvature... It's all about choosing a pair that fits the shape of your eyes, just like with classic false lashes.

Beyond the aesthetic effect, there are several types of magnets. Most models of magnetic false eyelashes are studded with mini magnets along the entire length of the lash line - like those of Ardell or Eylure (available at Feelunique). Other pairs of magnetic false eyelashes are separated into two bangs to be applied in the inner and outer corners of the eye - like those of Peggy Sage (available at Bleu Libellule). Finally, some pairs are applied in combination with a liquid black eyeliner.

How to apply magnetic false eyelashes?

Applying magnetic false eyelashes requires time, patience and a good helping hand!

First step : 

Start by applying mascara normally on your lashes.

Step Two : 

If you need to apply magnetic eyeliner before applying false lashes, now is the time. If not, you can also apply eye shadow or classic eyeliner.

Step Three : 

Fold the false eyelash strip so that it is less rigid. Then, using your fingers or tweezers, place it flush with your lashes, following the line of your real lashes for the most "natural" result possible. The magnets should automatically stick to the upper eyelid. 

Step Four : 

On some models, it is sometimes necessary to add small bangs of false lashes on the ends of the eye to hide the magnets.

How do I remove magnetic false eyelashes?

To remove false magnetic lashes, nothing could be simpler! Gently grab them with your thumb and forefinger. Bend the strip gently until you feel the magnets come off the lid. Finally, peel off the false lashes little by little without pulling on your natural lashes.

Unlike conventional false lashes, there's no need to clean them after application. You can put them directly back in their box until the next use.

Advantages of magnetic false lashes

If there is one advantage to magnetic false eyelashes, it is that you can do without false eyelash glue: a considerable advantage for those who are allergic to latex. Another significant advantage is that magnetic false eyelashes do not require any special maintenance: there is no need to wash them after wearing them. Thus, they can be reused up to 30 times (compared to a dozen times for false eyelashes with glue). Very easy to remove, there is no risk of damaging your lashes or tearing them off.

How to Apply

1. Shake the eyeliner bottle before each use 

2. Apply a generous amount of the Magnetic Eyeliner as you would normally apply your eyeliner. 

3. Add a 2nd coat. It's important to ensure you apply enough Magnetic Eyeliner 

4. Wait 2 minutes for the Magnetic Eyeliner to dry. The liner dry Lashes won't attach to the very wet liner. 

5. Gently hold the lash to the eyeliner. The lash will magnetically adhere. Carefully adjust if needed. When you're happy with the placement, lightly press lash down to fully set it. 

6. Seal the eyeliner bottle tight after each use



How to Remove

1. Gently pull the lashes off 

2. Use makeup remover to clean the magnets on the lash hand 

3. Use makeup remover to remove the Magnetic Eyeliner



Note:

If lashes have trouble adhering, apply more Magnetic Eyeliner, let dry, bend the lash band to fit the curvature of your eyelid, and press the lash band onto the Magnetic Eyeliner. You may optionally trim the lashes to achieve your desired length. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not wear a machine.
